Hollywood remake of Wim Wenders' "Wings of Desire", with Nic Cage as angel Seth, who prowls L.A, tuning into people's innermost thoughts and trying to guide them towards happiness. When he comes upon heart surgeon Maggie, (Meg Ryan) he's struck by the sadness and guilt she suffers after failing to save a patient, and begins to long for the feelings - good and bad - that only mere mortals can experience. Soon he's so in love that he can't help but make himself known to her, but at what price? Lovely-looking romantic drama.
