Gloriously gaudy homage to the cheesiest of 60s TV cheese, with William Hurt as the spaced-out space pilot who takes off, literally, with his family to colonise a far-off planet. All in the interest of the environment, of course. But dastardly Dr. Zachary Smith (a superbly camp Oldman) has stowed away aboard the Jupiter 2, with evil intent, and so ensues a chaotic space & time-hopping adventure, fuelled by some spectacular special FX. Pure entertainment.
