A Great British rock spoof, penned by veteran writers Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, and starring the cream of the crop of homegrown talent. Failed '70's popsters Strange Fruit are attempting a comeback, two years after their vicious break-up, guided by pushy P.A Juliet Aubrey. But a lingering mutual loathing is the least of the band's problems, as they, and their roadie Billy Connolly, are about to discover when they take a crash course in remembering how to behave like suitably debauched rock stars. Timothy Spall is particularly excellent as the Fruit's lovable but incurably flatulent drummer, in a comedy that'll warm the cockles of your heart.
