Blending elements of "Shallow Grave" and "Fargo", this noir-ish thriller should satisfy the most demanding fan of the genre. Set in the snowbound Midwest of America, the cautionary tale begins when three locals discover a crashed aircraft containing a dead pilot and millions of dollars in cash. Half-witted good ol' boys Jacob and Lou can't wait to get stuck into the obviously ill-gotten gains, while the sensible, principled Hank just knows it'll all end in tears. Of course, the trio go for the jackpot anyway, but while the pressure of fooling the authorities mounts up, it's nothing compared to the deceit, paranoia and mistrust building amongst the erstwhile pals. Excellent.
