Madcap mob comedy, with Robert De Niro taking a tongue-in-cheek poke at the mean and moody image that made him a star. He plays Paul Vitti, one of New York's most powerful gangsters, who's suffering a mid-life crisis after losing his will to kill. So, with his business, not to mention his reputation, on the line, he hires reluctant psychiatrist Dr Ben Sobel (Billy Crystal) to help him recover his ruthless streak, and the already troubled doc is about to find out that his life is no longer his own.
