A New York book dealer, Dean Corso, is hired to find the last remaining copies of a demonic manuscript written in collaboration with the devil. The further Dean delves the more fascinated he becomes and soon finds himself embroiled in theft, satanic rituals and murder; the closer he comes to achieving his objective the more he begins to wonder if he should. The Ninth Gate is an effectively chilly supernatural thriller from the hand of Roman Polanski.
