Diane is the Lincoln High's cheerleader captain, and in love with the schools star quarterback, life is sweet, but when their relationship blossoms into impending parenthood, the fantastically naïve couple discover to their horror that money really doesn't grow on trees. Diane's bestest buddies and fellow cheerleaders decide that the only realistic option is to rob the local bank and so are born the Betty Doll robbers. Sugar and Spice is a fresh and welcome twist on the recent spate of cheerleader comedies and American teen movies in general, sweet natured at heart but also slightly subversive and knowingly absurd, its a darn entertaining romp.
