The name given to an illegal road race held in America, where your average Jo gets to belt across the country in a terrifyingly fast car in order to win the respect of his fellow racers... and a bit of cash. 'Cannonball Run' is a crude and tasteless bit of high speed slapstick, with a mega cast, all of whom were past their peak. Ridiculous and entertaining, it's in danger of becoming some kind of modern classic of the genre!
