Kirsten Dunst and Jay Hernandez star in this rich girl-meets-boy from wrong side of the tracks flick. The crazy Nicole meets the beautiful Carlos and against everyone's wishes they fall in love. But things get complicated when he needs her father's recommendation to get into naval school and he wants him to leave his daughter alone: for Carlos' own good! The boy meets girl story is a little tired but the acting makes up for it and so does the family dynamic between Dunst, Bruce Davison and Lucinda Jenney. A genuinely decent flick for a night in.
