The story of Michael Oher (a real life escapee from Precious), a teenage son of a crack addicted mother and a missing father. Adopted and cared for by a rich white family Michael was transformed from no-hoper to an American Football star. This is the story of his success and of the family who worked so hard to give him a life.
Beloved by the public, belittled by critics this paean to loving care and white loveliness has to be watched. find out more...

Don Haskins is the basketball coach for a small Texas University, but he's also a man with a dream and that is to win the National Championship. Based, if somewhat inaccurately, on a true story that took place in the 1960s, Glory Road is a remarkable, if familiar, tale of the underdog, in this instance a predominantly black team, coming from nowhere to powerhouse through the field and face the overwhelming favourites in a final that everyone only thought they'd witness as spectators. Based on the true story of unemployed amateur cyclist, Graeme Obree, who broke the world One Hour record on a bike of his own revolutionary design, constructed out of scrap metal and old washing machine parts. Simply as a study of courage, endurance and ingenuity, Obree's story is remarkable enough, but it's also the tale of a man haunted by depression and a fierce mistrust of authority, whose struggle to overcome his own demons was at least as courageous as his exploits on the track. find out more...

Improbably based round the true story of how a group of khatueys, effiminate men, came to represent the province of Lampang at volleyball and how, despite official disapproval, they proceeded to win the national inter-provincial championship. Hilariously funny, for once high camp isn't annoying, the quarrelling/making up, made up lads(?), despite broken fingernails and personal trauma, emerge triumphant. This film never has a bad moment and will leave you up-lifted. find out more...
