Review
A group of slacker buddies with delusions of anarchy find their beliefs (indeed some are left reeling from the after shock of actually having their first 'belief') tested to the limit when their friend Puck decides to indulge in some proper anti-establishment behaviour. The Anarchists Cookbook is a strange and sordid mix of cynically targeted trash and ignorant, reactionary rubbish. The film is very unpleasant and manages to not tackle any of the philosophical issues raised by the idea of anarchy, deciding instead to plumb the depths of comedy which isn't funny and a morality which, although impossible to fathom, leaves a nasty taste on the back of the tongue just the same. This sub-Fight Club flick's only merit is its frightening similarity to government sponsored propaganda like Reefer Madness. Happiness is a suburban condo and a Republican fiance after all....
