Walt Koontz lives in a decrepid flat in Hell's kitchen, answering the distressed calls of a neighbour one night, he suffers a stroke; Paralysed on one side of his body and having difficulty with speech he is advised to get voice lessons. Good advice you might think but the only person willing and able to help him is one of his neighbours, a diva drag queen called Rusty and an individual that Walt despises. So begins an oddball relationship, where love and respect blossom from the unlikely bed of mutual contempt. Flawless is both a witty and sad, not a great film, but an enjoyable showcase for the rising Hoffman's talents.
