Based on the story of Toni Musulin, a security van driver responsible for transporting huge sums of money in an armoured vehicle. Severely unhappy with his working conditions and the treatment he has received from his employer, Musulin pulls off a heist while on the job, stealing 11.6 million euros from the Banque de France without using any force. On a mild and bright February morning in 1997, Los Angeles was gripped by the events unfolding live on their Tv screens. Two heavily armed men had attempted to rob a branch of the Bank of America in North Hollywood, but they were spotted by a passing police vehicle and the bank was quickly surrounded by over 50 members of LA finest as well as a huge crowd of onlookers and press. However, instead of surrendering the gunmen, clad in Teflar, calmly walked outside into the parking lot and let rip wi find out more...

A crackingly realised biog of a man who relentlessly dodged death with a cocky ambivalence that frankly defies credulity. 'Mesrine' is stylishly shot, smoothly directed and perfectly, charmingly, sociopathically performed by Cassell. A tight, pacey thriller considerably enhanced by the fact that it's based in, well…fact. This first film takes us from his brutal initiation as a soldier during the horrors of Algeria's fight for liberation to the end of the 1960s via France and French Canada. find out more...

The last few years of Mesrine's life sees him starting to enjoy the fruits of his thievery but this is now a man tortured by his infamy; increasingly, egotistically consumed by his own invincibility. Mesrine part 2 is an odd film in the sense that it feels like half an hour of story dragged out to a feature length running time; Cassel still makes a crackingly charming psychopath mind find out more...

In the 1930s the new FBI became involved in the hunt for America's most notorious criminals; Pretty Boy Floyd, Baby Face Nelson and John Dillinger. This, in particular, is the story of the search, using distinctly 'unorthodox' methods, for the latter. find out more...

We start with compulsive liar Roberto picking up a teenage girl in a disco and we follow his affair with her while he carries on robbing and murdering. A powerful adaptation of the real life serial killer that documents more than just his dark achievements but gives a wholly believable insight into the man's damaged world and the chaotic ineptitude of the society upon which he preys. Harsh but utterly hypnotic. find out more...

A gripping, Oscar nominated, reconstruction of the rise of the Baader-Meinhof Group, a bunch of radical terrorists who rose in the mid-70s using military means, arson, bank raids, assassinations and kidnappings, to attempt the overthrow of the German state, many of whose personnel had their roots in the country's Nazi state. find out more...

A bunch of likely London lads are hired to rob a bank of its safety deposit boxes, but unfortunately this bunch of amateurs aren't really the best outfit to pull the job off. While the robbery doesn't go exactly according to plan, the scandal that they inadvertently bring to light may become the boys' best hope of dodging a very long stretch at Her Majesty's pleasure, or worse. Apparently based loosely on a true event, Princess Margaret(?) Lord Lambton(?), the Bank Job is a highly enjoyable, pac find out more...

After taking hostages in a Stockholm bank, ex-con Lars Nystrom demands the release of his old partner in crime from prison. As the situation escalates, Lars starts to let down his guard as he develops an uneasy bond with one of the female employees. The ever watchable Ethan Hawke is the best thing in this crime caper. It’s uneven and lacks the power of its premise but always manages to keep your attention hostage. (EMPIRE)
