An ambitious young tennis coach makes friends in high places, gets a comfy well paid job and charms the boss's daughter into accepting a proposal of marriage. Unfortunately our smooth talking protagonist falls for the considerably sexier ex of his best mate and what began as a shiny ‘Notting Hill' style drama gradually descends into a shiny unlikely thriller. As a slickly put together slice of no-brainer entertainment Match Point does the business, as a touted return to form for Woody Allen, however, it does not.
