A French film actress, Colette Marly (Edwige Feuillere), tells the press she is bored with men. Lord Datchett (Stewart Granger) hears this statement as a challenge and sets out to prove her a liar. He sends her a letter inviting her to stay at his country estate to rest "while he is away." Stewart Granger is devilishly charming as the woman hater, and the supporting cast is magnificent. Jameson (Ronald Squire), Lord Datchett's butler, drips with dry humor. Clair (Jeanne De Casalis), the French maid, is hilariously witty!
