Michael Winterbottom once again teams up with Steve Coogan to tell the story of Paul Raymond, the strip club entrepreneur-turned-millionaire 'King of Soho', whose pioneering forays in the adult entertainment industry saw him become one of Britain's richest men. A cousin of the collaborative pair's earlier 24 Hour Party People, albeit with g-strings in place of guitars, it's at its best while content to remain a whirlwind tour through its evocatively-realized period setting; however, as a character study of Raymond's relationship with the women in his life - in particular with his troubled daughter - it feels as two-dimensional as one of his magazines' centrefolds.
