A multi award-winning debut from Algerian-born director Karim Traidia. Lured from Poland to Holland under false pretences, Anna finds that she is expected to work as a prostitute in a brothel. Managing to escape from the abuse, the beaten and bleeding woman is found by a Dutchman, Henk, who offers her shelter. Gradually the pair begin a tentative romance, with Anna bringing some order into the phlegmatic farmer's life, while he teaches her his love for the countryside. But the blossoming relationship is threatened when the pimps from Anna's past come back to claim her. Moving and beautifully shot.
