Ike Graham (Gere) is a 'USA Today' hack who turns bazaar real-life stories into journalistic gold, while Maggie (Roberts) is a serial engagement freak who ditches her 'husband's to-be' at the altar. When Maggie finds herself the feature of one of Ike's stories she complains to the paper about her treatment. What follows is the romantic comedy by numbers. 'Runaway Bride' is a solid and enjoyable romantic comedy that reunites the directors and the two stars of Pretty Woman, and although it never scales the height of its predecessor, it rarely puts a foot wrong.
