AGENCY (1980)

A mysterious millionaire buys an ad agency and begins to replace its employees with his own people, who don't appear to be advertising types at all.

This story is pretty terrible but the subliminal message big reveal is really enjoyable.

Transfer (1966), Cronenberg's first film, is a surreal sketch of a doctor and his patient. From the Drain (1967) finds two men in a bathtub, which may be part of a centre for veterans of a future war. Stereo (1969), Cronenberg's first official feature film, stunningly shot in monochrome, concerns telepaths at the Institute for Erotic Enquiry where patients undergo tests by Dr. Luther Stringfellow. In Crimes of the Future (1970) Cronenberg worked in colour and with a find out more...

The third part of Romero's zombie triology. A bigger budget than the other two and featuring state of the art zombies. A small bunch of survivors are holed up in a bunker with their hopes resting on a small group of scientists experimenting on the zombies. Tense rather than terrifying, and with a black comic undercurrent, it rests on the bleak observation that, zombies or no zombies, chances are that we, the living, will tear each other apart. Not for the faint hearted. find out more...
HARDWARE (1990)

A highly advanced killing machine is brought back from a radioactive wasteland in a state of disrepair. It ends up in a young woman's kitchen where it starts to rebuild itself from household appliances. Adapted from the '2000 AD' comic 'SHOK! Walter's Robo-Tale', this is a critically acclaimed post-nuclear sci-fi thriller with plenty of atmosphere and a great cameo from Motorhead's Lemmy. find out more...

A cure for cancer has morphed into a deadly airborne virus and those it doesn't kill it turns into blood thirsty cannibalistic mutants. Virologist Robert Neville is stranded alone in New York with these neighbours from hell, immune to the virus and desperately searching for a cure that will make them less inclined to take a bite out of his arse. That is pretty much it, this weak adaptation of a dark and intriguing book was originally made into a much more effective and disturbing film, 'The Omeg find out more...

It's 1997 and the Predator has returned to wreak deadly havoc, but this time in the concrete jungle of downtown Los Angeles, a city already gripped by violent clashes between drug crazed ganglords and a despairing police force. A superior sequel with brilliant special effects. Watch. find out more...

Alice wakes up in an empty mansion minus her memory, within seconds she's carted off to a secret military labratory by some hard arsed looking commandos. So begins a nightmare journey into the bowels of hell and the world of the zombie flesh eater. Resident Evil is the movie version of the wildly successful game, daft, vacuous and a none stop action-packed blood-letting frenzy. Yippee! find out more...

Alice is out of the Hive but things aren't much better up top. The city is under quarantine and joining with a group of trapped soldiers and cops (for no other apparent reason than to see those less fortunately endowed be torn to pieces at the hands of the living dead) Alice sets in motion a plan for escape. I've watched this film and I had to read the back of the box in an, admittedly fruitless, attempt to remember what it was I'd seen, lots of action though…. I do remember that. find out more...

Not satisfied with 2 lacklustre instalments of The Crow, this new sequel sees ex-con Jimmy Cuervo rising from the dead to take revenge on the renegade bikers who murdered himself and his girlfriend. All the names associated with this turkey (and there are a frightening number of them) should forever hang their heads in shame. find out more...
