The stuff that was too much for the televison public to watch, but here it is for you to rent. Anyway, the comedy, while a bit bluer, is still a hit and miss affair with pop references becoming more obscure as time moves on. Wildman Steve is a highlight though.

Pretty much every class black American to have strutted his stuff and tickled the funny bone in the last 15 years gets an airing in this Def Comedy Jam extravaganza. Only Jamie Foxx has so far escaped the ‘great comic, crap movies' curse, but you can only hope, as all stand ups seem to feel the need to, that comedians this sharp (bar Martin Lawrence?) will, at some point, escape the boards in style.
