From much of the team that brought us 'Shallow Grave' and 'Trainspotting', this film of Alex Garland's book is perhaps the weakest of all that they have done. Leonardo Di Caprio stars as a naive but self-possessed back packer hunting for the idyllic island that is believed to exist somewhere off the Thai coast. His journey and discovery are the most interesting aspects of the movie, as his new found heaven on earth begins to collapse the story becomes more generic.
