Groucho plays Dr Hugo Hackenbush, a horse doctor mistakenly put in charge of a sanitorium. To save it he has to win at the races. Includes the great scene when Chico sells Groucho more books than he can hold for a simple betting tip, and the scene where two people are "redecorated".

A DELICATE BALANCE (1973)
CertificationPG Our Rating
The sister who drinks too much, the daughter who divorces too much, they're both there with Tobias and Agnes for a little get-together… and tear-apart. 'A Delicate Balance' was Edward Albee's first Pulitzer Prize winning play and in it he examines the same waspish middle-class America which he explored to such caustic effect in 'Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?'

Brilliant, stylish, bloody and proof that Europeans make better Westerns than the Americans!

A bawdy, pacey romp in that salacious "Carry On" style we all know so well! Mostel is a slave on the look out for freedom. The scheming slave is never far from a laugh in this fast and furious farce. Mel Brooks couldn't have done better himself.

A GENERATION (1954)
Certification15 Our Rating
The first part of Wajda's triology of films, the hopeful one, is set in Warsaw 1942, deals with the setting up of a youth resistance group and sticks very much to the CP line of courage, honour and self-sacrifice. These three films rank amongst the greatest achievments of contempory European cinema and Zbigniew Cybulski's performance is rated as one of cinema's greatest.

Part 1 of Wajda's trilogy of wartime films, the hopeful one, is set in Wola, a working-class area of Warsaw in 1942, and deals with the graduation of a bunch of semi-delinquent street kids, through individual acts of defiance and courage, into a youth resistance group. The heroism is not simple, neither loyalties nor self-sacrifice are assured, but united they will be.

The first Beatle movie and (some would say) the best. Zappy, zany, snappy and with the cuddly mop tops looning about in a lovable manner.
