The third part of Romero's zombie triology. A bigger budget than the other two and featuring state of the art zombies. A small bunch of survivors are holed up in a bunker with their hopes resting on a small group of scientists experimenting on the zombies. Tense rather than terrifying, and with a black comic undercurrent, it rests on the bleak observation that, zombies or no zombies, chances are that we, the living, will tear each other apart. Not for the faint hearted. find out more...

A strange, beautiful film. We watch mother and son as they go about their peculiar daily routine, and we see a dead child in the ocean. It's unnerving and, somehow, everything seems eerily sexual, too. Then we are invited to go underwater where we get a closer look at the strange story science and earth have to tell. There are only mothers and sons in this coastal town. There is routine and control - but who is in control and what happens if someone starts to ask que find out more...

A cure for cancer has morphed into a deadly airborne virus and those it doesn't kill it turns into blood thirsty cannibalistic mutants. Virologist Robert Neville is stranded alone in New York with these neighbours from hell, immune to the virus and desperately searching for a cure that will make them less inclined to take a bite out of his arse. Grant Mazzy is a radio DJ whose 'character' has had him turfed out of the big city and banished to the back of beyond. Expecting his first day to be full of fairly mundane local news reporting, Mazzy soon finds himself in the thoes of panic as calls come flooding in about a possible viral infection spreading rapidly though its cause remains unknown... 'Pontypool' is an intelligent and provocative horror/thriller that doesn't for one second fail to entertain or engage. Highly recommended. find out more...

‘The Crazies’ is about a band of survivors trying to escape a small town where the citizens are succumbing to an infectious disease that turns them into rabid lunatics and, as if that isn’t enough, the bureaucracy is no friend, the army being a little less than helpful. ‘The Crazies’ is a satisfactory, if unambitious, remake of George E Romero's cult classic that delivers well on scares and hasn't misplaced its sense of fun (cue the most ridiculous groin-threatening set piece since G find out more...

Police officer Rick Grimes leads a group of survivors in a world overrun by zombies. Critically well received, this is a worthy addition to the zombie genre.

"Josephine Decker has created a new style of thriller that employs allegory, incorporates touches of David Lynch as well as Magritte -esque imagery. Decker's setting of a remote farm feels like a metaphor for what turns out to be hell. The raw and emotional (and yes, sometimes funny) dialog tells a story that can seem familiar at points but really is meant to keep you guessing and off balance. I really enjoyed how the undertones of this film came to life through her very deft contrast of the find out more...
