Michelle breaks up with her boyfriend and, in a panicked drive interstate, ends up unconcious in her vehicle by the side of the road. Thankfully, Howard was driving by and took her to his nearby home where he put her on a drip and nursed her back to health - well, sort of. When Michelle comes to she finds herself in his cellar, in a locked room, handcuffed to the wall. Howard says an alien apocalypse is taking place but Michelle isn't so sure. Jack Mosley epitomizes the jaded disillusioned detective, hovering on the verge of moral bankruptcy, that Hollywood is so fond of and when he is assigned the task of escorting a petty criminal, who knows a thing or two about corruption, down to the court house the story is set for a re-awakening of his conscience. Directed by Lethal Weapon helmer, Richard Donner, 16 Blocks is an action-packed run for your life movie, short on believability but full of non-stop action. find out more...

A mysterious millionaire buys an ad agency and begins to replace its employees with his own people, who don't appear to be advertising types at all.

This story is pretty terrible but the subliminal message big reveal is really enjoyable.

1999 and Sierra Leone is in the midst of civil war, the rebels infamously using an army of indoctrinated children to do their genocidal work. In the midst of this bloodshed two unlikely men are drawn together, one a desperate father whose son has become a rebel soldier, the other a self-serving white Rhodesian mercenary in search of an immense uncut diamond. Keeping it modern, but taking the man with more lives than an over-subscribed cattery back to his beginnings, we follow the suave thug-in-a-suit as he earns his ‘00' licence to kill status. This Bond is one mean hard-arsed mother and it's nice to see him played by an actor who looks like he can genuinely run without a group of nervous paramedics circling just out of camera shot. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, it's brooding, brutal, dark and replete with some great action sequences, but, as my find out more...

Our hero, repeating his role as the villainous London wide boy Chev, stomps his way round LA looking for the dastardly sod who has nicked his heart and replaced it with a battery run pump that needs regular high-level external electric boosts to keep functioning. A fine, darkly comic, over-the-top, non-stop, action flick, with tongue firmly in cheek and some great set pieces. find out more...

A scarred stuntman cruises the American hinterland in his specially adapted 'muscle' car praying on nubile young women who fail to take advantage of his less than smooth advances. All is going well until Mr Nutter picks on three hard as nails (but still nubile) stuntwomen and so begins a brutal chase along the byways and highways until Tarantino mercifully realises that he has no plot to speak of, a script that could have been adlibbed better, and just suddenly ends the film. Like a bizarre, mea find out more...

Three-time speedway champion Jensen Ames is an expert at survival in the harsh landscape that has become the America of the near future, which is fortunate because when he's framed for a brutal murder and incarcerated in the country's most notorious penitentiary he'll need every skill he can muster. Forced to compete in a murderous car race by the corrupt warden, Jensen's only hope of freedom is to win, whatever the cost.
