He plays himself at the centre of the 'Orpheus' myth that he based his work upon, and self-consciously re-examines his own work and ideas. Strange fantasy, only for Cocteau afficionados.

A really weird little number. An alien who lives off the psychic energy generated by people achieving orgasm and by injecting heroin lands in Manhatten. To get this fuel it needs a human an agent - a fashionable deadhead who finds that her lovers vanish after climaxing. A useful weapon.

Jazz musician Bill Pullman is an already insane guy in a failed marriage; bitter at his wife's infidelity he murders her and is captured and sentenced. Unable to cope with this reality he invents an alter ego, but this alter ego has to cope with his emotions and his life starts to fall apart. A bit like a voyage into Hitchcock's Psycho's head. Absolutely amazing film from the master of confusion. One girl is amnesiac after a traffic accident she walked away from, the other is a too good to be true little Miss Perfect recently arrived in LA from Canada, and the two set out, against the background of a corrupt film industry, to discover the former's identity, and in doing so open a Pandora's Box. Elizabeth is a highly renowned actress who has lost her ability to speak, Alma is the nurse responsible for helping her through her psychological, rather than physica,l ailment. As the relationship between the two women develops Alma seamlessly becomes Elizabeth's voice, the start of a metamorphosis that sees the very essence of who they both are beginning to blend. Eat your heart out David Lynch! This movie has it all - sex, mutilation, religion, obsession, revenge and a circus which makes Archaos look like a branch of the Young Conservatives. The plot defies description, suffice to say it is perversely funny, grotesquely bizarre and definitely not family viewing.
