Jean and Bill are a newly married couple struggling to make ends meet. Things are set to change with the arrival of a telegram informing them that they have inherited a cinema belonging to Bill's long lost, and now diseased, great uncle. The couple pack up their bags and head of to the town of Sloughborough in order to claim and take charge of their inheritance. Their joy turns into despair; however, when they find the cinema is close do derelict and the staff are completely incompetent. The Smallest Show on Earth is a warm and endearing comedy starring some of the best comic actors Britain ever produced. Delightful!
