Simon Cable awakens in hospital after a near-fatal car accident to find that the last two years of his life have been erased from his memory, his brother has died in an eerily similar accident, he has a wife who views him with suspicion and loathing, a lover he can't remember and the ability to move backwards and forwards in time. Based on the stage play 'Point of Death' by Michael Cooney, The I Inside is in the vein of films like 'Jacob's Ladder', 'The Butterfly Effect' and 'Momento' and whilst it doesn't quite reach the level of originality and intelligence of some of its predecessors it looks good, is well acted (although whether Ryan Phillippe has the emotional maturity to lead the narrative is still in question) and keeps you guessing right up to the end credits.
