In Tokyo dysfunctional friends Nimura and Mamoru have dead end jobs working part time in a towel laundry. Mamoru's passion is attempting to adapt a venomous jellyfish to fresh water, but his dreams are cut short when in a mindless rage he kills his boss's family and is sentenced to death. Picking up where his friend left off Nimura continues to work on the jellyfish, finally releasing the lethal creature into Tokyo's canal network. A dark, slightly surrealist tale, 'Bright Future' is a bizarre but fascinating, interpretation of the observational human drama.
