After two passengers have fallen under his train in a month tube driver Paul looks distinctly luckless, but, when he hears of a secret rule that if this happens thrice in a month he'll get a pay off of 10 years salary, he sets out round London to find a willing suicide, and this he does in the form of sad case Tommy trying to jump off Holborn Viaduct. Tommy agrees, provided they make one last visit to his estranged family, whom they track down to the Lake District in this somewhat hackneyed buddy movie.
