Beautiful, sumptuous cinematic version of the classic Irish play by JM Synge. The plot involves the population of a quiet little village, and especially a pretty young woman, who fall under the spell of a charming, somewhat roguish, stranger who appears suddenly one day. What really makes it stand out is the emotively poetic script and performances.
