A stylish thriller set in Los Angeles 1950s mobster era when 4 cops nicknamed the "Hat Squad" become a law unto themselves go around dishing out vigilante-like rough justice until the day that they themselves come under suspicion of murder. Tense action and tight execution make for a good-looking film.
