The Ghost Camera is a rough and ready little comic mystery about a chemist who finds a camera in the backseat of his car, develops the film and smells a murder. It was edited by a young David Lean. The Last Journey is about a runaway train and is Vorhaus' nippiest movie. Both movies are the best offerings of a shoestring genre known as the 'quota quickies' made during an era when British movies were largely theatrical and the cast of characters had their roles characterised with economic precision. The split-second editing is superb and the emotion comes from the motion.
