A remake of the Shaw Brothers' classic "One-Armed Swordsman" from prolific martial arts director Tsui Hark. Featuring Hong Kong's newest fighting sensation Chiu Cheuk, "The Blade" tells the story of an orphaned boy, adopted by a master sword-maker. As a young man, he learns that his father was murdered by a mysterious tattooed killer, so he sets out with his father's broken blade to seek vengeance. When his arm is hacked off in a bloody ambush he is believed dead, but is saved by a hermit girl who nurses him back to health. Finding an old kung-fu book, he vows to perfect the art of one-armed sword-fighting and finally wreak retribution. Exhilirating, with awesome action and a breath-taking finale.
