Review
Taken from a classic Chinese novel and set in the Mo Dynasty. 'The Bride with White Hair' is the story of a swordsman Cho Yi-Hang who is tired of his life. He is the reluctant successor to the Wu-Tang throne and the uneasy commander of the clan's forces. A meeting with a beautiful, but equally unsatisfied, assassin from an opposing cult changes his life. The two warriors fall deeply in love, but the affair angers their respective clans. With its blend of romance, fantasy, and martial arts, ‘The Bride With White Hair' is reminiscent of ‘Crouching Tiger' (a film it predates), and like its Cantonese counterpart it can be easily recommended - just don't expect a happy ending. Marvellous!
