Arno is a dreamer and drifter, and consequently always short of cash, when he is reluctantly hired as a courier for a rich businessman, he is already on the run from smugglers and the authorities, but his circumstances are about to get even worse. Forced to join forces with the island's local crook the men's deep distrust of each other drives them to an act of betrayal that neither would previously have thought possible of themselves. Based on a story by Ernest Hemingway, After the Storm is an enjoyable and satisfyingly old style thriller.
