Ben Dover at it again with so-called 'first timers' who he 'meets' 'randomly'. Whatever. Super Mario helps him out as usual. You gotta love those hand held camera angles...'nuff said. find our more...

The prolific Mr Dover is back again, video camera firmly clamped in sweaty paw and bringing you the hot and steamy delights of some well-to-do gals. It quickly becomes apparent they aren't quite as financially secure or socially superior as they would like you to believe. Which is good news for some who watch this... though disappointing for others hoping for a more insightful critique of the class struggle.

The last of the Ealing comedies. A gang of crooks take up lodgings in the house of a dotty old lady. Using her as cover they plan a bank robbery. Jeff Fahey plays Jobe, a simple and child-like gardner who becomes the subject of an experiment by Dr.Angelo (Brosnan),to increase his brain power. Virtual reality is the key that unlocks this frightening latent power. The much-vaunted effects are superb, despite over-reliance on them. Exciting! find our more...

The address in question is that of an ageing Anglo-Indian teacher who seems destined to remain a spinster. Her life has been a sad one, and her story is told in a gentle series of flashbacks and recollections. Jennifer Kendal's central performance is the saviour of the film. Burton and Taylor in a screen version of the kind of love-hate relationship which they were famous for in private, a kind of on-screen therapy. Taylor gives what is probably her finest performance as the blowsy harridan Martha, while Burton is not quite so hammy as usual as her angst-ridden college professor husband. The verbal fireworks that occur when they invite a young couple to dinner are surprisingly convincing. A must see classic. find our more...

Married life is proving difficult for cashless and homeless newlyweds Jenny and Arthur. With well meaning, but interfering, parents, nosey neighbors and a town that thrives on gossip, can their marriage last? Will there ever be any good news? The Family Way was deemed worthy of an 18 certificate, upon its release back in 1966, merely because it dealt with the concept of physical intimacy in a thoughtful and no-nonsense manner. A touching, observant film, adapted from Bill Naughton's 'All in Good find our more...

A musical satire on WW1. Patriotic songs of the period are brilliantly parodied and the lunacies of war are portrayed as a series of games played by the upper classes - Haig playing leapfrog and conducting battles from a helter-skelter, losses reflected on cricket scoreboards, while the working classes are massacred on the front line. Scores of well-known faces, brilliant. find our more...

Another Hitchcock masterpiece, featuring some of the most inventive and unsettling camera work in cinema. Stewart plays a retired detective who is hired by a friend to follow his unstable wife. However the plot is considerably more entangled than it appears from the outset as Stewart becomes a witness to the wife's death. A moody and considered psycho-drama... find our more...

Godard's hugely influential debut went on to inspire a new wave of French cinema and this is the film which epitomised the iconoclasm of the early Nouvelle Vague. Belmondo is the hip gangster, modelled on Bogart, whose escapades, including shooting a cop, leave him and his girlfriend on the run from both the cops and his enemies. The insolent casual style and cool moods make this the ultimate film noir.

Huge epic, set during the heyday of Republican Rome, in all its ostentatious glory. The story details the purchase and selection of slaves, the harsh discipline and routine of the gladiators' school, the new comradeship balked by the realisation that a gladiator must kill or be killed. Then the film really comes into its own with the superbly staged revolt and escape, led by the slave who, with his unlikely army, holds the Roman army at bay for four years. Magnificent, masterful....a classic! find our more...

A 1960s indictment of both war and 19th Century British imperialism which caricatures the aristocracy as blood-thirsty snobs and the workers as cap doffing morons, a blend that led to disaster. Creepy, "kitchen-sink" style dramatisation of the horrifying true story of mass-murderer John Christie.
