In 1978 Aldo Moro, the Italian Prime Minister, was abducted by a faction of the Red Brigade to be held culpable for his crimes against humanity. This tense dramatisation of events follows one of the kidnappers, Chiara, as she moves from blind conviction to confused questioning of the Brigade's actions, and indeed her own motivation. Good Morning, Night is a powerful, haunting drama, disturbing, but also strangely redemptive in its depiction of the fallibility of fanaticism.
