A fast, sassy script with plenty of good one-liners ensures this indie vs corporate tale is better than your average teen movie. A franchise tries to take over the record shop where they hang out, so the staff rebel with a plan of their own. A cool comedy-drama, with a great cult soundtrack thrown in. Great !

Hollywood's 'ultimate rebel' in this posthumously released teenage angst movie which made him the semi-articulate voice of a generation. This style of '50s social realism can be very entertaining, lines like: "Johnny, have you any idea why you shot those puppies?", are legendary themselves .

Five very different kids arrive at high school one Saturday morning to do a nine hour detention during which time they must write an essay titled "Who do I think I am?". At first, they argue and hate each other, but after smoking some marijuana, they pour their hearts out to each other, and tell about their fears, secrets, and their deepest emotions, and problems. An iconic 80s movie and the first of a trilogy preceding 'Sixteen Candles' and 'Pretty In Pink'.
