The Mitchells vs the Machines is a ridiculously fun and thought-provoking satire on how humanity has become over-reliant on technology, so much so that a simple dinner conversation with your family has become a rare occurrence.

Abbi Jacobsen voices Katie, a teenage misfit who tries to keep her weird family together during a robot uprising. Danny McBride voices her technophobic dad who strives to get his children more in touch with nature and wildlife.

What ensues is a delightful romp full of laugh out loud moments, life lessons and several questions posed to the audience on where do we draw the line between using technology to better our standard of living vis-à-vis losing touch with those most close to us.

Maya Rudolph, Olivia Colman and Mike Riando voice the other supporting characters with elan and the quirky, edgy animation is an absolute masterclass.

The music from Mark Mothersbaugh is uplifting and energetic and excellently gels with the narration, and you are sure to be humming the theme well after watching the film.

For the whole family this one! Highly recommended! - Nidhun Thankachan
